i am looking to rent the 2nd upstairs furnished bedroom (10x16 with queen size bed, dressers, closet and a tv) in my rental house in woodbridge. i am a 50 year old male and would prefer living with a woman or woman and child as the remainder of the house would be shared. i am not opposed to a male roommate but it would have to be the right person. i have a very random schedule and do have cats. if person has a child, i don't mind saving you some day care expenses on the days i can. i'm very good with children and extremely responsible and protective. i don't have parties or company and renter could feel free to use the space as needed.
roommate will have access to the whole house for the most part and can have the upstairs bathroom all to themselves (except for late night stops so i don't fall down the stairs at night). utilities (not including cable) run around $300 depending on usage which we will split or we can do a flat rate on everything of around $900. i have wifi and can start dish network or cable. there is extra space in the basement to store stuff if needed.
i am a very good cook and prefer cooking for more than myself. if the other person is willing to clean up after the meal, that works for me. if food expenses were shared, i don't mind doing almost all of the cooking. i do the yard work and i keep the place looking nice. all repairs except if you damage something, are all covered. i am pretty quiet and keep to myself quite a bit so someone who needs to study should be comfortable here.i usually leave for work between 4 and 6 am.
your 1/2 of rent would be $750. i am willing to work around a security deposit and have all terms in writing. light smoker is ok landlord is fine with leasing out a room to the right person.
i respect other peoples privacy to an extreme degree and am hoping to find a situation that works for both of us. i love this house and would really prefer not to have to give it up.
