available: shared house in n. arlingtonwhy rent a cramped apartment in the midst of crime and congestion, when you can rent a lovely house in a tranquil, low-crime, residential neighborhood??
situation: i am set to move out in mid-august, and need to find a christian female to replace me on the current house lease in order to make that happen!
surroundings: we live in the super-tranquil residential neighborhood of tara-leeway heights in north arlington. public transit bus stops are a couple blocks away in different directions, and the nearest metro station is either ballston or efc (equidistant). nearby landmarks include lee harrison shopping plaza, yorktown high school, westover village, and virginia hospital center.
set up: you would get the big master bedroom (13x11.5, plus 6x2 closet), and would only necessarily need bedroom furniture. the shared common areas (living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchen, screened back porch, back patio, front lawn/backlawn) are all already fully equipped. there is a dishwasher, microwave, and laundry washer/dryer.
financial: your share of the rent would be $800/month, plus you would pay for the basic utilities of trash/water/gas/electricity (circa $100/month total) which would be signed over to you. the roommate pays for high-speed wifi that can provide streaming video to multiple devices.
environment: the house is a peaceful retreat, complete with a hammock, herb garden, and 2 snuggly kitties!! it is within easy walking distance to the quaint, pedestrian-friendly main street of westover village (library, post office, etc). my roommate is quiet, in her early thirties, a full-time professional on shift-work, and very tidy and organized! oh, and if you like gardening, there is lots of room to do that! :-)
